The S6 Servo Drive and F6 Variable Frequency Drive satisfies fail-safe functional safety requirements for machines employing PROFINET connection.
The F6 VFD and S6 Servo Drive from KEB America, Inc., a KEB Automation subsidiary and a provider of industrial automation solutions in North America, has received PROFIsafe certification.
KEB drives give functional safety over the bus to industrial machines needing PROFINET connectivity thanks to TÜV Rheinland's PROFIsafe certification.
KEB drives have functional safety as a key component.
Safe Torque Off (STO) and Safe Brake Control are included with the F6 VFD and S6 Servo Drive as standard features (SBC).
There is additional safety functionality available, including Failsafe over EtherCAT (FSoE), SS1, SS2, SOS, SLS, SLP, SLI, SDI, and SSM.
Sales manager at KEB America Jonathan Bullick remarked, "The approved PROFIsafe communication in our drives is a significant victory for machine makers.
"It minimises wiring, necessitates a smaller footprint, and offers cost savings during commissioning."
The F6 and S6 drive controllers are supported by KEB's COMBIVIS 6 commissioning and diagnostic software to provide excellent speed and position control.
With speeds up to 45,000 rpm, these drives power induction and AC permanent magnet servo motors.
They have dual-channel encoder cards, variable heatsinks, 0.75 kW to 450 kW power levels, and internal positioning for motion control applications.
